Caring for your Wood Floors
New Floor Guidelines:
For the first week, your new floor has not yet completely cured. Curing takes a good 3 to 4 weeks for the floors to harden like glass. Until that time It is vulnerable to damage. Don’t walk on the floors for 24 hours after we leave. If you must use stocking feet

For the first week try not to clean the floor right away. ( mopping or vacuuming) no spraying with any cleaner made for wood (pledge)

Try to limit traffic on the floor, possibly using rosin paper (found at any Home Depot type store)

The smell of the finish will diminish, ventilate as needed.

The best ways to protect your floors ~ Dust mop or Swiffer your floors regularly. This will get rid of any sand that cause scratching

A mop dampened with cold water used to clean up any spills or mess

Try to clean any spills as soon as possible

Place mats at outside entrances. Shake out the mats often to get rid of any dirt or sand

Use felt tabs on bottom of all furniture. Check the felt often for wear and to keep clean of grit

Use a humidifier & dehumidifier will keep the humidity at a constant level to keep floors from swelling, cracking and shrinking

Keep your pets nails clipped
Definite no-no's:

Never use any household cleaners on your wooden floors.

Do not use products that contain oils, wax, or silicones.

Don't wash or over wet your mop on your floors, keep them just at a damp level
