Restoration
Some floors are discovered under carpets, some are just found with the purchase of a new home and we have even had some clients find hard wood floors hidden under laminate tiles. We try to take these hidden treasures and get them back to there original beauty. The procedure to restoring is a more grueling and harder process with extra steps to remove years of stains, gouges and splits. In the end the true beauty of the wood comes through and it turns into a floor you can be proud of. There have been many clients that have thought that the floors they have found were not fixable…. But after studying the amount of sandings left and the severity of the damage, most often they can be saved… when in doubt, have us take a look.
We have performed restoration work on a 200 year old home on sycamore avenue in Shrewsbury and a 300 year old house in Rumson (which is the 2nd oldest home in that town). Wood was milled from the yard where the house was built. The client loved it and we were extremely proud of it also! In one area of this home we matched the 300 year old flooring with new wood that had to be hand picked, matching the grain, so that it looked exactly like the original. Please take a moment to look at some of our before and after photos of some of our restoration work.
